FAQ

  • MFGD is the abbreviation for Made From Good Deeds. The name came from the very first product we made.

We wanted to create a stationery product that connected our love for minimalist design and spreading good vibes. As a result, our MFGD desk calendar came to life – where each month included three good deeds to inspire people to get involved – e.g. leave a $5 note in a random library book, shout a stranger's coffee etc. All with the simple intention of putting a smile on someone’s face and making a difference through small acts of kindness.

From there, our range expanded to include minimalist framing, display and planning solutions to make every home beautiful.

  • Our products are made from a variety of unique materials. To ensure their longevity, please follow these guidelines:

    • Timber
Grain, texture and colour will vary based on the natural material. Please avoid direct sunlight or excessively warm temperatures, as this can cause the material to warp. Our timber products are for indoor use only.

    • Magnets
High-grade magnets are used in our products and must be handled with care. To avoid possible damage, keep them away from credit cards, watches, TVs and other electronic devices. Children should not play with them as toys. People with pacemakers must avoid magnets.

    • Acrylic
Avoid sliding acrylic across any surface with debris. Chips and dirt can scratch the surface.

    • Metal
Our metal components have a powder-coated finish that can be cleaned with a non-abrasive damp cloth.

    • We source our materials from suppliers across Australia and support local businesses where possible.

    • Our timbers are NHLA Sustainability Verified & PEFC Certified.

    • We donate up to 80% of our off-cuts and timber waste for landscaping use.

    • Our design process considers how material sizes are sold to utilise most of the material footprint and reduce waste.

    • Close to zero/minimal use of adhesives, solvents and epoxy finishes - we aim to create products that exemplify the beauty of the material in its purest form.

    • We adopt a micro-batch production philosophy that enables efficient management of production processes and allows us to monitor quality control, save on energy use, and minimise waste.

    • Passionate about supporting the environment, we’re proud to support Tree Project - an organisation dedicated to the planting, management and sustainability of local tree species across Victoria.

  • A portion of MFGD proceeds is donated to TreeProject, an organisation leading the way in sustainable planting and management of local tree species throughout Victoria.

Hangar FAQ

  • Our frames are simple and easy to use. Check out these videos to see how our frames work.

    • Our timbers
While many frames tend to use mixed-grade timbers, we believe your prints deserve to be framed with quality timbers. That’s why we work with Walnut, Beech, and Oak as they reflect the natural beauty of timber and suit a variety of interior spaces. As timber also varies in colour and grain, we carefully sift through each timber piece to ensure every set is beautifully paired together.

    • Our magnets
Other frames use screws, string, or clips to hold your artwork, which can fray over time and create permanent marks on your prints. We use high-grade magnets that are embedded so they don’t damage your prints, with the strength to hold your prints (up to 400gsm) with ease. The magnet grades in our frames are also stronger for the larger sizes for extra security.

    • Aesthetics
How the frame is mounted is very important for the overall aesthetics of the room. Many frames tend to use cords or string which require a nail or wall hook to hang your frame. On top of that, if you’re renting, screwing or drilling through the walls becomes an added issue to work around. Our solution is the custom-designed hook that comes with our Hangar set. These hooks give you the option to screw directly into your wall or if you are renting, use a removable 3M self-adhesive refill strip. It’s the quickest and easiest way to mount our hook on your wall.
